Compliance with these guidelines is mandatory for all authorized IRCTC Agents
1. Authorized Use of Agent ID
•IRCTC agents must only use the agent IDs provided by IRCTC for ticket booking.
•Booking through personal user IDs for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited and will result in a penalty of ₹20,000/- + Taxes per RSP ID, along with permanent deactivation as per IRCTC policy.*
•Aadhaar number must not be linked with the IRCTC normal id before.
2. Ticket Booking Conduct
•Tickets should be booked only when a customer approaches the agent.
•Agents must ensure that the customer's transaction (booking or cancellation) is done with their complete knowledge and acceptance.
•Agents must maintain written or electronic requests and a copy of the customer's ID proof for both bookings and cancellations.
3. Customer Mobile Number
•Mobile number of the customer or one of the passengers is mandatory while booking.
•It must be accurately entered on the ERS (Electronic Reservation Slip).
•Violation will lead to a penalty of ₹5,000/- + Taxes per case.
4. Overcharging Penalty
•Overcharging beyond the ticket amount is strictly prohibited.
•Penalty: ₹20,000/- + Taxes per RSP ID and permanent deactivation of such IDs.
5. Ticket Resale/Transfer
•Transfer and resale of tickets is punishable under Indian Railway Rules, Section 142.
•Agents should not engage in any unauthorized resale or transfer of tickets.
6. TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt) Claims
•In the absence of a written/soft copy request from the customer for filing a TDR, a penalty of ₹5,000/- + Taxes per case will be imposed.
7. Use of IRCTC Logo
•Agents must not misuse the IRCTC logo in unauthorized ways.
•Printing Reservation Application Forms with IRCTC logo is strictly prohibited.
8. Tampering of ERS
•Modification, alteration, or tampering of the Electronic Reservation Slip (ERS) is strictly prohibited.
•Such acts are considered criminal under Section 420 IPC and are punishable by law.
